Union Station Washington D.C.
Washington Union Station is one of the nation’s busiest and largest transportation hubs. The station opened in 1907 and is still Amtrak’s headquarters. In addition to the transportation status, the station has a close proximity to major D.C. attractions like the Lincoln Memorial, National Mall and Washington Monument. Union Station also has a wide variety of shopping and dining options.
Lincoln Memorial, National Mall & Washington Monument
Washington D.C.’s National Mall is the most visited National Park in the country. The Reflective rectangular pool in the middle of the 146-acre park stretches from the Lincoln Memorial on the west end to the Washington Monument at the east end, with the White House on the north side and Smithsonian Museums sprinkled throughout. Just south of the park is the Tidal Basin Reservoir, which is the heart of the Cherry Blossom Festival held every spring.

From the National Museum of Natural History to the National Air & Space Museum, the Smithsonian Institution consists of 17 different museums, galleries and a zoo. These institutions provide an astronomical amount of knowledge, and the best part is that admission is free at every Smithsonian Museum.
