Things to do in Las Vegas
The Strip
Known as the heart of Las Vegas, The Strip is home to the high concentration of lavish hotel-casinos along the small central section of Las Vegas Boulevard. Particularly during the night, the neon wonderland amazes its visitors with some of the greatest sound-and-light shows in the world. If you begin your stroll at the pyramid at Luxor Hotel and Casino, just across the road you’ll see the New York New York Hotel and Casino and its replica of the New York City skyline of the 1940s. Other must-see spots include the erupting volcano at The Mirage Hotel and Casino, the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas, the High Roller at LINQ Hotel and Experience and the beautifully choreographed water fountain ballet at The Bellagio.
Grand Canyon National Park
Whether you’re touring by foot, car, bike, scooter or helicopter, the panoramic views of the Grand Canyon should not be missed. Las Vegas is about a 2.5 hour drive to the West Rim and a 4 hour drive to the South Rim of the canyon, so if you plan on visiting without a tour group, adding a rental car is a great option. After you’ve selected your flight, hotel and room type, simply click “add a car” to see all the rental options that best suit your party.
Seven Magic Mountains
Often referred to as the “colorful rocks in Las Vegas,” the Seven Magic Mountains’ striking saturation serves as an artistic expression just as much as an amazing photo opportunity. The rocks are lined on a desert landscape and are visible along Interstate 15, about 10 miles south of the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Rose Parkway in Henderson. To see the Seven Magic Mountains for yourself, click “add a car” after you’ve selected your flight, hotel and room type to see all the rental options.
Las Vegas Casinos
Naturally, there are almost too many casinos to count in Las Vegas, but here’s a list of some hotels with highly-rated casino worth visiting: Encore Las Vegas, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, Sahara Las Vegas, ARIA Resort & Casino, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Circus Circus Hotel and Casino.
Hoover Dam
Named one of the Top 10 Construction Achievements of the 20th Century and a National Historic Landmark, Hoover Dam continues to draw visitors even 80 years after its creation. Standing at more than 725 feet above the Colorado River, it’s one of the country's largest hydroelectric power facilities. A good spot to enjoy a spectacular view of the dam is the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. The dam also offers a panoramic view of Lake Mead, the largest man-made reservoir in the US.
