Things to do in Nashville

Broadway
Night or day, Broadway is always a fun place to be. Renowned for its honky tonks and live music, this street of shops, restaurants and bars is unlike any other. While Nashville is often viewed as the home of country music, it also has a very strong rock & roll presence. Many of the bars also have rooftop access, making for a great place to soak in all the lights, sound and fun in Nashville.

Grand Ole Opry & The Ryman Auditorium
What started as a one-hour radio broadcast at The Ryman Auditorium in 1925 is now one of the most famous sources of live entertainment in the nation. The Grand Ole Opry is said to have made country music famous, but even to this day, it continues to stage weekly American country music concerts and make way for new country artists. The broadcast, WSM (“We Shield Millions”), started as a radio “barn dance” when it was founded by George D. Hay. It’s now operated by Opry Entertainment and is the longest-running radio broadcast in the U.S.

Nashville Murals
Nashville’s art scene is just as exciting as the music scene, and with murals literally painted across the town, it’s easy to experience the artwork on the go. Some of the more iconic murals like the #WhatLiftsYou Wings Mural and the I Believe in Nashville Mural are located on 12 Ave. S., but there are more scattered across town with large concentrations in the Gulch, downtown and Germantown areas.

The Parthenon & Centennial Park
Just outside downtown Nashville, The Parthenon, and the 42-foot statue of Athena inside, is the centerpiece to Centennial Park. Adjacent to Vanderbilt University, the building and the statue are both full-sized replicas of their influences in Greece, making for a breathtaking monument in the middle of Nashville’s premiere urban park.
