Things to do in Curacao
Willemstad Curaçao
Located in the area of Schottegat, Willemstad Curaçao truly carries the Dutch influence of waterways to street cafes all the way to Curaçao. Perpendicular to the street of colorful buildings, lies the famous and beautiful Queen Emma Floating Bridge Curaçao. The rich architecture fills the town with dutch colonial buildings and transports you back in time to the 17th-and 18th-centuries.
Klein Curaçao
Klein Curaçao is located a few miles off the coast of Curaçao and is accessible only by boat. The uninhabited island features miles of fine white sand beaches and abundant wildlife onshore and underwater, making snorkeling an itinerary-must. Many tour companies in Curaçao offer all-inclusive day trips to Klein Curaçao.
Handelskade
Handelskade is a small street lined with brightly painted 18th century buildings, located along the Curaçao harbor in Willemstad, the country's capital. Today, these brightly colored buildings are home to cafes, island boutiques and other local stores—it's a little haven of old-style European architecture in the heart of Curaçao. Some of the best beaches in Curaçao are minutes away from Handelskade like Santa Bárbara Curaçao and Mambo Beach Curaçao.
Mount Christoffel
Rising 1,200 feet over the island, Mount Christoffel is the largest national park in Curaçao. Hiking trail options range from easy to challenging, but be sure to get there early as climbing is prohibited after 11 a.m. due to warm weather. Plus, trails can take two or three hours to climb. The effort is well worth the work; once you reach the top, you can see the entire island!
