Barbados Wildlife Reserve

The Wildlife Reserve is a paradise for animal lovers, where you can stroll freely in a natural environment alongside the animals. The reserve is home to monkeys, peacocks, tortoises and Agouti and Brocket deer, which roam the grounds daily. The monkeys are the most active during the afternoon when they’re feeding, making it a great opportunity to observe the animals up close.

Pebbles Beach

Among the many noteworthy beaches in Barbados, Pebbles Beach is known for its crystal clear, calm waters, soft sand and scenic city views. The beach is lined with local snack vendors and extended from Browne’s Beach. It’s known for being more lively than tranquil but, altogether, a great beach for lounging and soaking up the sun.

Highland Pottery

Visitors are often amazed by the number of pottery shops when they visit Barbados. Many of the rocks underlying Barbados consist of clay sedimentary deposits, which is why pottery has been a well-defined and practiced industry in Barbados for centuries. This red-hued, terra cotta clay pottery can be found in the Scotland District of St. Andrew, and you can often find locals making the pottery in the streets.

View of Animal Flower Cave in Barbados on a JetBlue Vacations Flight + Hotel all inclusive package

The Animal Flower Cave

The Animal Flower Cave is located under the North Point cliffs in St. Lucy parish, where the Caribbean and Atlantic meet. Discovered by two English explorers in 1780, the cave is estimated to be around 500,000 years old and remains the only accessible sea cave in Barbados. The walls of the cave have been colored green and brown by oxidation of copper and iron, creating a unique feel inside. Even if spelunking isn’t your thing, the ocean views are still worth the visit.

St. Nicholas Abbey

St. Nicholas Abbey has been the go-to spot for Barbados’ award-winning rum since 1660. Unlike other distilleries, St. Nicholas Abbey produces its boutique rum in traditional small batches, with an annual production of only 6,000 bottles. The spirit is aged in bourbon oak casks to create a rich color before it’s hand-bottled into elegant glass decanters. St. Nicholas Abbey personifies the rich history of rum making.
